We are thrilled to share a monumental moment for BVB International Academy El Paso Borderland! Juan Daniel Carrera, a talented player from our 2009 boys' team, has earned a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Dortmund, Germany, as part of the BVBIA National Team.

Juan will join the top 18 boys and 18 girls selected from BVB International Academies across North America. For one week, he will train and compete at the Borussia Dortmund Football Academy, one of the most prestigious soccer academies in the world. This program, known as the School of Excellence (SOE), immerses players in a professional training environment and helps them take major strides toward achieving their dreams.

A Journey of Dedication and Recognition

Juan's journey to this incredible opportunity is a story of perseverance, hard work, and talent. Born and raised in Mexico, he moved to the U.S. to continue pursuing his passion for soccer. While his parents remain in Mexico, Juan has become a key player in BVBIA El Paso Borderland, quickly rising through the academy.

In October, Juan stood out at the BVBIA ID event in Tucson, impressing regional scouts with his skill and determination. His journey continued at the National ID event in Dallas this past December, where he proved himself among the best in North America. As a result, Juan was selected for the BVBIA National Team—an honor that represents the culmination of years of effort and commitment.

This opportunity is made possible through BVBIA’s authentic partnership with Borussia Dortmund. Unlike other programs, our academy offers direct access to one of the top clubs in world football. The School of Excellence program is designed to create a pathway for players to reach the highest levels of the sport, with the Dortmund experience being a key milestone.

For Juan, this is not just a football trip—it’s a chance to learn from the best, improve his game, and take a significant step toward his goal of playing collegiate soccer and beyond.
