BVBIA El Paso is excited to welcome Coach Annika Theobald from Borussia Dortmund for a special free girls training session on Friday, August 7, at El Paso High School.

Annika serves as Manager International Partnerships & Girls Programs for Borussia Dortmund and brings a strong background in both playing and coaching the game. She holds a UEFA B-License and played soccer for nearly 14 years, reaching the second division in Germany.

Her visit represents a unique opportunity for young female players in El Paso to train, learn, and connect directly with someone from one of the most recognized clubs in world football. The session is designed to inspire girls of all ages, build confidence, and give players a firsthand look at the energy, standards, and development culture connected to Borussia Dortmund.

A New Chapter Begins: Former BVBIA El Paso Player Juan Daniel Carrera Miranda Signs with FC Juárez

BVB International Academy El Paso is proud to celebrate an exciting milestone in the journey of former player Juan Daniel Carrera Miranda, who has signed a one-year contract with FC Juárez to join the club’s Under-17 team.

Originally from Meoqui, Chihuahua, Juan Daniel’s journey has been built through hard work, discipline, commitment, and a willingness to challenge himself at every stage of his development.

His move to FC Juárez represents an important next step in his football career and an opportunity to continue his development within a professional club environment.

From El Paso to Dortmund and Now to FC Juárez

During his time with BVB International Academy El Paso, Juan Daniel earned the opportunity to participate in the BVB International Academy School of Excellence, including traveling to Dortmund, Germany, where he experienced the culture, standards, and demands of football at a higher level.

The School of Excellence experience is designed to challenge ambitious players beyond their everyday club environment. For Juan Daniel, the journey to Borussia Dortmund in Germany became another important chapter in a much larger development story—one that continues today with his move to FC Juárez.

His progression is a reminder that player development is not defined by one tournament, one season, one trip, or one opportunity. It is the result of consistently showing up, embracing challenges, learning from new experiences, and continuing to work toward the next level.

BVB International Academy El Paso has been accepted into the National 1 League for the U16 age group, marking a major step forward for the club, its players, and the broader El Paso soccer community.

National 1 is described as the top team-based competition in US Club Soccer and US Youth Soccer, creating a unified national platform connected to the ECNL pathway. For players in El Paso, West Texas, and New Mexico, this represents a new level of competition, visibility, and opportunity close to home.

For BVBIA El Paso, acceptance into National 1 is more than a league placement. It is a statement about the direction of the club.

It means our oldest academy players will now have access to a competitive structure designed for serious teams, ambitious players, and clubs that are prepared to represent their region at a higher level. National 1 South District 4 includes El Paso, West Texas, and New Mexico, with the goal of bringing together top teams across the region in a meaningful, structured competition format.

Mini / Little BEEs (Ages 3–6) - Introduction to the game through movement, coordination, and fun. The focus is on building confidence and a love for soccer.

Black & Yellow Academy (Ages 6–10)- Foundation phase where players develop technical skills, game understanding, and habits that support long-term growth.

UEFA Coaching Education Is Coming to El Paso

This August, BVB International Academy El Paso will host a major coaching education opportunity for the Borderland soccer community.

The LFF D license El Paso 2026 course is coming to El Paso through Coachbetter in partnership with the Lithuanian Football Federation, creating a rare local opportunity for coaches to begin a European coaching education pathway without leaving the region.

For coaches in El Paso, Las Cruces, Juárez, West Texas, Southern New Mexico, and the broader soccer community, this is more than a course. It is a chance to grow, connect, and help raise the standard of player development across the Borderland.

A New Opportunity for Coaches in El Paso

The course is designed as an entry point into modern coaching education. According to Coachbetter, the LFF D licence helps coaches learn the fundamentals of coaching, the organization of training sessions, and player development in youth football.

The El Paso course includes online webinars and a two-day in-person practical delivery at El Paso High School. The practical dates are scheduled for Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23, 2026, with both days listed as full-day sessions.

This format gives coaches the opportunity to learn through a combination of online education, live contact, and practical field-based work.

BVBIA El Paso 2018 Girls Make History with Club's First-Ever Girls League Title

EL PASO, Texas - Every club has a moment that defines its future.

This spring, BVB International Academy El Paso's 2018 Girls created one of those moments, becoming the first girls' team in club history to win an EPPL Title. The championship is another milestone for an academy that has continued to grow since its founding in 2022. In just four years, the club has reached a milestone that reflects its continued commitment to growing the game and creating opportunities for young female athletes throughout the Borderland. As one of the club's first two all-girls teams, these players did more than just lift a trophy; they laid the foundation for the future of girls' soccer at BVBIA El Paso.

This season began with plenty of unknowns. The 2018 Girls had many players who were new to the sport. Director of Soccer Operations Nancy Mankamyer had the opportunity to lead the historic team and says the accomplishment represents much more than the final standings.

"Leading the 2018 Girls EPPL Championship squad was an incredible honor. I am deeply thankful to the BVBIA - El Paso leadership and the assistant coaches whose unwavering support helped bring this vision to life. Together, we shared a single mission: to launch the girls' program and build something truly meaningful. Little did we know, this team would carve its name into BVBIA - El Paso history. This achievement was about far more than trophies; it was about paving the way for every girl who follows in a black and yellow uniform."

As the season unfolded, the team's confidence continued to grow. Experienced players welcomed newcomers, families filled the sidelines with support, and each training session strengthened the group's belief in what they could accomplish together.

"Starting the season as one of the club’s first two all-girls teams, these athletes courageously faced the challenge ahead. Many were new to soccer, but with the encouragement of experienced teammates and the dedication of their families, they made remarkable progress. We learned from losses, worked hard to develop each player, and focused on the most important value: enjoyment. Their bond was undeniable. While the joy of the game united them, it was their resilience, growth, and genuine care for each other that defined their success."

The title was earned through steady progress throughout the spring season. The players embraced every opportunity to learn, and by the championship match, they had become a team that trusted one another and competed with confidence. Their success reflects the values that continue to guide BVBIA El Paso both on and off the field. Looking back on the season, Mankamyer believes the impact on this group will be felt for years to come.

"This season was a testament to the power of community, commitment, and belief in potential. Every practice, every game, and every cheer from the sidelines built a foundation for the future of girls' soccer in El Paso. These young athletes not only grew as players but as leaders, friends, and role models. Their journey is just beginning, and the legacy they’ve created will inspire many more to come."
